If they can find all these sneaky ways to send it, why can't a way be found to stop them in their tracks? Are the spammers really that much smarter than the good geeks? What am I missing here? In Outlook Express this function has three settings: 1) Automatically respond to such a request, 2)Ask before sending a response, or 3) Do not send a response. The setting can be found in Outlook Express by clicking Tools>Options>Receipts. Other mail software may vary. Provided that the client isn't set to automatically send a response you should be safe in this area. It can sometimes be difficult to tell that an email is spam before opening it. This would be true if you had your mail client set to automatically send a response to such a request.
