Tasks (To Do List) Now Standard In Gmail

Gmail users may have noticed a new link on their left side navigation bar titled ‘Tasks’. This new function is a simple To Do List. You can read about all the features and shortcuts here, but it doesn’t really offer anything exciting outside of its native integration into Gmail and Google Calendar.

Many of you may already be using Remember The Milk with Gmail and/or with Google Calendar, which seems to be a much more functional tool at this point.

Is anyone planning to make use of Tasks? If you are a Remember The Milk user, are you going to drop it in favor of the native Google tool?

I actually dropped Remember The Milk long time ago, not because of the google task list but its stupid marketing plan for having a paid pro account in order to use it on iPhone.

There’s a lot of focus at the moment on Task/Todo list services and applications.

In terms of actual applications, Getting Things GNOME! is a new project available for the GNOME desktop environment, and in it’s early stages of development. There’s also “Things” for OSX and the iPhone which appears to be doing quite well. Todo/Tasks is obviously a big requirement!

I use Exchange/Outlook/iPhone, too.. and still never use the Tasks or the even the Calendar features! Maybe I’m missing out on a bit of organisation…
