Getting a great work lamp for working inside a PC isn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world to find because there aren’t that many choices available. In addition, there aren’t too many lamps that are specifically made for PC use (there is decorative, but I’m talking about work lamps here).

A truly great PC work lamp is one that’s battery-powered, throws a lot of light and can be mounted or semi-mounted somewhere while you work.

One of the best I’ve found, pictured right, is the 27 LED Super Bright Deluxe Glow Work/Utility Light, and it’s only 5 bucks. This thing throws a lot of light, which is exactly what you want when working inside a PC case.

Warning: The lamp is magnetized, but it’s a light magnetization. As long as you hook the lamp on the side of the PC case that’s away from the hard drives, you’re fine.

The nice part about this lamp is that is can be used anywhere where you need a lot of light in a small package, but it makes for an excellent PC case work lamp.

On a final note, the only issue reported with this lamp is that the build quality is "about average" and some of the LEDs in the array may go out after a short while. But for 5 bucks, those are tradeoffs you can live with. Even if half the array burned out, it still makes for a good PC case work lamp.
