If you are curious, or excited, about using or trying Linux but are unsure which of the roughly 16,132 distributions is right for you, then you need to check out DistroWatch.com.

DistroWatch specializes in keeping up to date with the latest distributions and allows you to see a top 100 list of the most popular selections. Additionally, when you visit an individual distro page, you can view all the most popular Linux programs with respect to the distro (version information, etc.). To further help you with your decision, there are also links provided to reviews on most of the distros.

Bottom line is DistroWatch is a great site for helping you make a decision on what flavor of Linux you might want to try.
