I've only had to recharge my nook 3 times since I bought it and I spend an average 2-3 hours a day reading.  The display is easily seen in both bright lite, and now with the Glow option, in total darkness.  If you re looking for a good all around e-reader, you would be hard pressed to find anything as versatile and inexpensive as the nook simple touch!    I bought the Nook simple touch glow about a month ago.  I couldn’t be happier!  The battery life is excellent.
