Tips For Handling Your RSS Feeds

Posted Sep 23, 2008 by Jason Faulkner

With the popularity of RSS, many of you may have an extensive list of feeds you are subscribed to which can quickly become overwhelming. While there are always different strokes for different folks, I thought I would throw out a few tips which you may find helpful.

  • If you seldom read feeds from a particular site, unsubscribe from it. You can always go to the site and read the articles manually.
  • Consider unsubscribing from feeds which release lots of articles daily. The reason is simple, if you open your RSS reader and see 200 or more unread items, it can be overwhelming and discouraging.
  • Have your RSS reader display a preview of each article. This will you easily see if the article is worth reading the whole way through.

In addition to these simple tips, there are numerous other tips available on the web by doing a simple search (hint: search “rss reader tips”). If you have any tips you would like to share, please post them below.

This is what I like about this book. It is powerful information that everybody needs, but it doesn't read like a boring computer manual. LEARN MORE
