Tips To Help Avoid Online Fraud

Posted Aug 16, 2008 by Jason Faulkner

Buying and selling online is not hard to do. It actually might be the most convenient and easy method out there, but unfortunately it gets a lot of negativity because of the lurking ‘fraud’/’scammer’ elements. If the fear of fraud is deterring you from selling some of your stuff online, here are some tips to help identify red flags to be aware of.

While the scams evolve daily, it really all boils down to a single phrase: “if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is”. Scammers prey on people’s greed, blind trust and naivety. Just be smart, use common sense and online transactions are completely safe.

If you stop and think about it, when you pay at a restaurant using your credit card, how do you know the server isn’t copying your credit card number when they go to ring you up? Shopping online is actually one of the safest ways to shop as long as you are aware of how to avoid the dangers.

This is what I like about this book. It is powerful information that everybody needs, but it doesn't read like a boring computer manual. LEARN MORE
