Unboxing Videos Are Stupid. Don’t Do Them.

This will probably be the only time (at least from me) that you’ll ever see an unboxing video here.

Why?

Because unboxing videos are stupid, always have been stupid and always will be stupid.

Unboxing videos either show the product barely being used or not used at all. Little to no information is given that the viewer would actually consider useful.

The reason I’m showing you this is first to show how stupid it is, and because there are more than a few of you who make videos of your own and post them to the internet from time to time. You may get the idea that an unboxing video is interesting. IT IS NOT. Don’t do it.

  1. You tell ‘em Rich! :D

Actually, I can appreciate an unboxing video done by the manufacturer or retailer as long as they do it correctly. But you’re right, and correctly-done unboxing video, is not an unboxing video; it’s a product tour/demonstration. Anyone posting an amateur unboxing video from wrapped package to unboxed device, especially without even turning it on, is just showing off their new toy.

  2. Aww come on!

How can you deny people like this guy the self-satisfied glow he feels. I mean, just look at his face!!! He’s already lining up the woman he’s gonna cheat on his Girlfriend with. ALL because of THIS Video!

    You’re just being Mean!

    • Yes, and I’m sure his living-in-the-90s unshaven plaid-adorning “grunge” look gets him all the chicks. Gotta love hipsters.

  3. One response for this video….. o.0

Other than the moronic unboxing video, why is this retard wearing a fucking ski cap indoors?
Unboxing video + fucking ski cap = colossal douchebag.
