Security:
EasyDisk uses a simple lock/unlock program stored on the drive for security. When the drive is locked, you can still open the drive, but all files on it will not be visible. There will be a single icon launching the PassId program that requests the password to unlock the disk. Simple but effective.
DiskonKey uses a more sophisticated method. You can allocate from zero to ninety percent of space as your privacy zone. This privacy zone is a secure area where you can store your files separately from the unallocated space. To write in the privacy zone you have to log in using the KeySafe program installed on the drive by launching the appropriate icon, and entering the password. When you are in the zone, the files names will have a background of orange. To log out, you have to run the program again. If you want to change the size of the privacy zone, you have to reformat the drive, losing your data. Being able to format the drive should also be password protected.
Lagging behind is the USBDrive. Employing a simple lock/unlock switch on the side of unit, it is the epitome of the simple floppy disk replacement: it just has higher capacity with no added features. Security features should not be hard to implement on the part of JMTek, as the other drives security functions are software based. But, there is little chance of this actually happening as JMTek has the “USBDrive” and the “Secure Flash USBDrive”.

Miscellaneous:
EasyDisk and the USBDrive include a USB extension cord for those who do not have front-accessible ports and a driver CD for Windows 98/SE. This is a very nice touch on EasyDisk and JMTek’s part to accommodate users. DiskonKey includes label stickers that can be placed on the front of the drive and no driver CD.
