One of the problems that you may frequently encounter is the large amount of email that can congest your inbox, ranging from spam to newsletters to confidential correspondence. There is a feature in Outlook XP/2003 that allows you to quickly “sort” through mail; this feature is found at Tools -> Rules and Alerts. Choose to set up a new rule by clicking “New Rule” and follow the wizard presented to you. Though the wizard is quite expansive (much too large for a tip of the day), actions like “Move to” and conditions such as “Sender” are self-explanatory. Once you set up the rules, run them to sort existing mail and apply them to sort new incoming mail.
