Using Windows Vista Restore Points To Recover Documents

Posted Nov 13, 2007 | by Jason Faulkner

One really awesome feature Windows Vista added is document recovery through restore points. This feature is based off the Shadow Copy function Windows Server 2003 introduced.

Basically what it does is allow you to recover documents you either accidentally deleted or saved over. Rather than me explaining how to use the service, Microsoft already has a quick how to available. One thing to note is you will only be able to go back as far as the amount of space you have allocated to restore points. Keep this in mind when you allocate space.

The only drawback is this feature is only available in Vista Business and Vista Ultimate editions, but for these editions, this is a great function.

Which Of These Traits Applies To YOUR Computing Life?...
