One thing many internet users sincerely appreciate are customer reviews – and the more the better. Web sites like NewEgg have been doing it for years. The user reviews for products can and do affect sales in either direction. Moreover they encourage buyers to speak their thoughts as to whether a product is any good or not.
While it’s not necessarily smart to buy something based solely on user reviews – it does help with the buying process (especially if you can’t test the product beforehand).
Wal-Mart, while very late to the game, is finally going to allow customer reviews on products.
As with most retail web sites, Wal-Mart will be screening any/all reviews that get posted. It is unknown how these comments will be presented, how they’ll look, where to find them, etc. But the fact it’s going to actually exist is a step in the right direction.
