In my recent experience it sees AVG and Avast!. The only antivirus program I've used lately that it doesn't see is Paretologic Antivirus.

If Windows can't see it you can always set the comp to know that it's there nevertheless, so that it stops nagging you.

If this is going to check for virus's, I don't trust it. I have had several well known virus scanners on my system and Windows has always reported that my system does not have a virus scanning program and may be at risk. It seems that Windows only sees Norton or McAffee.

Good to know since I'm sure there are some poor souls out there who see that and think "Oh... I don't need to pay for a virus scanner! Windows does that for me!" Nothing could be further from the truth.

You can also run MRT.EXE in the Run box any time. No need for a special download. MRT.EXE is in System32 as I recal.
