  6. Dunno if I got this from PCMech or not, but anytime I need a freeware app to do something new I make a beeline for http://www.techsupportalert.com/ and almost always find what I’m looking for, or at least something that will work. Sometimes I find something even better, or come up with other ideas on how to do the task at hand.

Many of the above apps probably came from PCMech at one time or another. Hopefully something up there will be of use. My way of giving back to PCMech ;]

After reading all replies including yours and I am not sure to understand what you are saying? Let me say first to see if I am correct about this. I see that most of you save the files in Utility Flash Drive and you mean that you run your programs from the flash drive on to the computer or laptop. For example: I will run the program, CCleaner from my flash drive to check the registry in the main drive of my laptop? Is that correct. If yes, then I will have more room in my laptop hard drive. Look forward to see the answer from you about this.

    Thank you,

    John

Correct, the programs can be run on the computer straight from the flash drive with no installation.

I like many of the free thumbdrive applications located at the following…

    portableapps.com

pendrivelinux.com and pendriveapps.com are also good.
