Because the registry is the source of many (perhaps most) of the problems that occur in Windows 98, it is advantageous to any 98 user to use ScanReg to fix (repair) the registry if he believes it to be broken. Go to Start -> Run -> command -> “scanreg /backup C:\backup.reg” (which backs up the registry) and then “scanreg /fix” to repair the registry. This should eliminate some of the errors that one might encounter.
