Windows Key Shortcuts

If you think that little Windows key at the bottom of your keyboard is just for popping up the start button, you are sadly mistaken. Here are some other uses for this helpful little key:

-Windows + E: Display Windows Explorer
-Windows + U: Open Utility Manager
-Windows + Ctrl + F: Display Search for computer
-Windows + R: Display Run dialog box
-Windows + D: Minimize or restore all windows
-Windows + break: Display System Properties dialog box
-Windows + shift + M: Undo minimize all windows
-Windows + L: Lock the workstation
-Windows + F: Display Search for files
-Windows + Q: Quick switching of users (Powertoys only)
-Windows + Q: Hold Windows Key, then tap Q to scroll thru the different users on your PC
-Windows + F1: Display Help and Support Center

Windows Key Shortcuts

Here are some uses of the Windows key present on many modern keyboards:

Windows Logo -Display or hide the Start menu
Windows Logo+BREAK – Display the System Properties dialog box
Windows Logo+D – Display the desktop
Windows Logo+M – Minimize all of the windows
Windows Logo+SHIFT+M – Restore the minimized windows
Windows Logo+E – Open My Computer
Windows Logo+F – Search for a file or a folder
CTRL+Windows Logo+F – Search for computers
Windows Logo+F1 – Display Windows Help
Windows Logo+ L -Lock the keyboard
Windows Logo+R – Open the Run dialog box
Windows Logo+U – Open Utility Manager
