I had no problems installing Wubi and 7.04 on my Dell XPS M1210... worked like a charm. The only thing is that I was stingy... I only allocated 4 G for the install. When it ran so well, I got excited and started loading tons of apps (that I would never use anyway, but sounded neat). I ran out of room and attempts at re-sizing the file containers proved futile. I tried the new 7.10 w/ the Wubi loader, with much more room. I wanted to see those Compiz effects! While it looks like it loaded, and it "tries" to run, it gets so far and I get into a Linux dosbox-type environment.

Wubi is an excellent "'tween" for those not wanting a true dual boot, but wanting a good flavor of Ubuntu.

Time for me to kill the old containers and re-load the Wubi w/ 7.04.

I tried to install the 7.10 via the Wubi from the Distro...to no avail...will there be a Wubi in the makings that will allow me to install 7.10 via the Distribution disc, so I can still use my Windows XP?

Unfortunately this version only seems to support CD boot as a way of bypassing BIOS problems. It does not allow the creation of a loopback hard drive image.

Please please please correct me if i'm wrong as I was one of those waiting for a fully supported WUBI
