The web and technology are increasing the direct participation in the political process (other than, of course, voting) that has, for the latter part of the 20th century until now, been limited to the "elite" (political, financial or media).The web and technology will continue to democratize the world and this is just another step in that process. this is, IMO, the future of debates and the run up to the actual election. The YouTubers pulled no punches and the questions they asked were harsh and to the point. Only a few softballs got lobbed. My gripe is with CNN, where many questions went unanswered by candidates even though the question was specifically targeted at "all candidates". The moderator simply refused to get responses from all, and arbitrarily picked candidates to answer. The discourse was less than polite but it showed exactly what the GOP is made of...
