One feature I recently took advantage of for the first time is the zoom functionality of Internet Explorer 7. This function is located in the bottom right corner of the IE7 status bar and, quite simply, shrinks or expands the browser display to the selected size.
I was looking at a large table of data which I had to scroll back and forth to see the entire row. I tried shrinking the font size, but the HTML had set the width of the cells, so the row didn’t shrink accordingly. When I changed the IE zoom to 75% everything fit. Of course the text was smaller, but the important thing was I could see all the data without scrolling.
If you are ever in a similar situation, this can be quite a handy function to know about.
