Pretty much every brand of MoBo will have different ways of configuring your RAM settings. Consult the manual for it to find out how to enable quad-channel memory, and make sure you have 4 sticks of the same kind of RAM (type and speed).
For those of you who have screwed-up your bios & your pc won't boot or run right....refer to your motherboard book & look for a section in it about clearing your CMOS. I built my own pc and am running an old K7S5A motherboard and it has a jumper setting on the board for clearing the CMOS....all you do is move the jumper from pins 2 & 3 over to pins 1 & 2 for a few seconds and then move the jumper back again and you've cleared your CMOS....then you can boot-up and go in to Bios and change the settings or leave them at the defaults and you're good to go.
If you are running Window XP Home or Pro (like I am) and you've loaded some programs or made some changes that have your system screwed-up, then XP has a neat little feature called System Restore that enables you to restore your computer to an earlier date when it was running properly. You can find this tool by clicking on the following in order: Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore or, if you can't find it, click on Start, click on Search (the little magnifing glass) and type in "System Restore" and it should bring it up for you and then you can click on it, select a date (from the highlighted dates) to restore your system to and you're good to go. GOOD LUCK!
