well there is a much better computer that you can get made from apple depending on how much you are willing to spend on this computer. It is the Mac pro. It has eight cores. Up to 32 GBs of ram and a 4 TB harddrive, but the best investment to make is on digitalstormonline.com. With 12 GBs of ram and up to 24 TB of hard drive space Oh and don’t forget an Intel i7 four core processor running at (after overclocking) anywhere from 4Ghz to 4.4Ghz and up to 6GBs of video ram. It is just amazing check it out
never buy a mac unless you want it for the OS. Their computers are overpriced so much. for 3200$ (starting cost of mac pro) i could build a 4 processor total of 16 cores 3ghz 667$, 500$ for the motherboard, 100$ for the power supply, 100$ for case, 64 gigs of ddr800 ram for 1360$, didnt leave me much for harddrives so 6TB 7200RPM of harddrive space.
btw if its for just about anything outside of rendering quadcore is pretty useless and an i7 can cost something like 300$ to 1,200$ my 60$ processor overclocked to 4.2ghz dualcore can beat it in just about anything.
I created a server that contained 6 hard drives. Made out of an asus terminator motherboard. works fine with Ubuntu server edition. Ubuntu is installed on a 16 GB flash drive. I’m 12, yet i love computers. the only drawback to my server is that its kinda slow, but i only had to spend 200 dollars on hard drives and RAM.

Q#1. If i buy a server then can i choose my own domain name. Without any web registrar.
You can choose your own domain name, but without a registrar to license the name for you, it would not propogate throughout the internet with your IP Address. You could get all of your friends and family to update their host files on their own systems, but that would be difficult to say the least. Domain names are about $8 a year now, so you should just get a domain name and generally it would come with hosting space for free so, you would not need to build your own server and deal with the headache of administration, unless you know how to administer a server, setup PHP, Apache or IIS and DNS. For a small site like this, any economy type hosting plan should be fine. Now if it's facebook size… then you may have to consider moving it up.
