I'd certainly advise leaving that rear fan connected to remove the hot air from your case.

Best thing to do would be to monitor your system temps using a programme like Everest (www.lavalys.com). If they're too high for your liking, you can always install more fans. The next obvious place would be an intake fan in front of your hard drives, if your case supports one.
