My motherboard is a Gigabyte 945PL. My cd drive doesn't open. Same with HDD. Oh and both cd-drives and the HDD seem to have no power to them, or they seem to have NOT booted up. I removed the IDE cables from the motherboard and the drives booted up - the CD drives booted up and you can clearly hear the hard drive spin up. If i plug them back in, they dont work? Its as though something has been reversed - they only work when NOT plugged into the motherboard. I really dont have a clue whats happened here. I've done the usual, unplugged all the leads, chips, power etc - and nothing works. Ive taken the motherboard battery out for 10 mins and still i cant reset it.
Anyone ever had a problem like this - im sooooo confused.
P.S. switching cables, various jumpering combinations, correct pin locations, and new drives have already been tested. i've been struggling w/ this for more than a week and am really frustrated. thanks help in advance.
