It does sound like his speedstream modem is the one that has built in router function, which is why the ISP tech said not to use bridged mode for now, since he is just going into an ethernet hub. Trulad, did you have to get into the speedstreams setup and enter your username and password there..?? And yes I think you are on the right trac by just going ahead and getting a Linksys Broadband router, which when you install that then you do need to put the speedstream into bridge mode, but for now with the hub inplace you don't want bridge mode if you are going to need multiple PC's to use the connection..
