It's preferable to use UNC paths if your software allows it, so do so if you can and that will solve the problem permanently, no matter what drive "letters" are in place.
\\comptuername\folder\folder for instance.
Also are you using the same username and password that you logged onto your network before with? You might simply not have the correct permissions to read the folder on the other machine if you're logged into your Win2k machine as the default "administrator", with a password that's not valid on the network with that username.
