The Westell Modem Bellsouth gives you is all you need if you are only connecting one computer. Otherwise, any router will do the trick (I've used LinkSys and Netgear routers with Bellsouth).
On another note, I had the DSL 6.0 for about a month, but honestly there is 0 practical performance upgrade from the DSL 3.0 (cheapest which gives you a static IP). I would drop back to DSL 3.0 and save yourself the $8 per month.
