My apologies as well -- by the time I got to the link at Drudge Report, the photo was gone.
But as a video producer and graphics guy, I'd say it's not doctored for three reasons. One, I called a friend at AP (for a totally unrelated thing) but asked him what he knew of the picture. He told me it had been uploaded to the AP database within 20 minutes of the second tower being hit. That's a tough senerio for doctoring -- take the picture, up it to your computer, edit, and then go through the crap to get on the AP database (takes at least three minutes to verify user name, authenticate and all that BS). Two, the photographer in question is highly reputable and would in no way want to harm his standing with AP and/or Reuters (he freelances for both). Not to mention he wouldn't want to hurt his own business of selling high quality pictures of the NYC skyline. Three, this same image was captured by another photographer from the base of the building and it was also captured on video (by ABC who won't release any more footage of the buildings for other reasons).
