In some discussions I have read they also state that temperatures will drop after a couple days use of the computer. This has something to do with the properties of the thermal compound. However, I have never verified this information myself.
Make sure that your heatsink is on there 100% correctly - otherwise you will run into heat problems. Yes, it can be tricky, so I recommend installing the heatsink onto the motherboard outside the case.
How is the airflow set up in your case? Do you have any case fans? If so, which direction are they pointing?
Another issue could be poor airflow in which hot air is traped and circulated inside. Make sure you have exhaust fans, generally in the upper rear end of the case.
