Yes, that is correct. In fact, that is what I have: Office 2000 running on Windows x64. 32-bit apps run just fine on Windows x64 for the most part. 16-bit DOS apps do not run at all. Also, all drivers need to be 64-bit drivers.

If you do choose to go with Windows x64, make sure that all of your hardware has 64-bit drivers available.
