Well Thankyou for the reply
I just tried it out and the problem is unable to be replicated.
Now I am assuming that as this problem can not be replicated under the 32bit conditions, it is something wrong with the I945 video card driver for x86-64? or something along those lines.

Meanwhile, Ill just stick with the 32bit for a while, although the 32bit does bug me in one aspect, whenever I boot up, it always goes to KDM not the GNOME version which I like and KDM does not permit root logons(doing loads of configs now so cant be bothered with normal user). Is there anyway to change that just out of interest?

EDIT: Nevermind, that question, I can get GDM started with system now. However it gives an error if I am not using failsafe.
It says my session lasted less than 10 seconds and on viewing the file, it states a warning about GTK+(i think) not being able to register the current GNOME session or something along the lines.
So Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks
Once again, Thank you all who have replied, I am not exactly very familiar with Linux
Jason
