Nope, from the outside a dual core processor looks and installs the same as a single core (provided the mobo is compatible and all...).

The next step up is the Intel 930 at 3Ghz (dual core)...it's about $175 on Newegg I believe. That 805 I think would be better than a Celeron at 3.2Ghz...even a Pentium 4 at 2.66Ghz would probably give better performance (4 times as much cache, etc)...for the most part you'll pay for performance. CPUs more or less would rank up in performance the same as they cost.
