I think the real issue isnt the specs required to run Vista quick .. but the specs required to run some serious apps on Vista quick. Is Vista going to boot up and then get out of the way to gracefully run resource heavy apps like Photoshop or even games when the bar is already set so very high! I'm interested in seeing how the conversation evolves around that as Vista gets closer to release and s/w mfgers put out newer versions.
That is of course the danger of talking of system requirements for an OS. Far too often people measure their system performance in terms of boot-ups or the "prettiness" of the GUI.
