Which OS do you have on the computers ? It could be that the target PC has Windows9x wheteas the source PC has Win2K/XP.
Windows 9x can't read NTFS which is used with 2X/XP.

If that is not the issue, we need more info about what the problem really is (do you get an error message, what PCs are you using etc. etc.)
