Look into the Bluegears B-Inspirer or an Auzentech X-Plosion. The new Cmedia chipset on the Bluegears card is supposed to give X-Fi a run for its money...while providing TRUE Dolby Digital and Dolby DTS
encoding on the fly. Those are the cards you want to hook to a surround receiver if you want to use the SPDIF.
