You haven't moved the folder that the pictures are in from their original download locations have you. In this case IE will not know where to go to get them. I also suggest that you download and install IE6 as it has much better support for graphics and the manipulation of the same.
Also I do not suggest using custom installs when downloading IE, instead save the file to your drive for a later installation which gives you the full program.
