I found an old surge protector in my basement. It's rated at 1875V and is producing pretty average results so far. Nothing has gone wrong and there is still a very, very faint humming present. Is that adequate or should I go with something like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

Would the difference be noticeable?
