The initial keyboard was a good generic, soon after I switched to a Logitech internet KB, That is when it all went to heck. During this same period I was in the Driver battle with My HP scanner and updating my printer drivers. The printer drivers gave me NO problems once updated. The HP scanner drivers however were another story. I obtained the updated Disk from HP and followed their directions to the letter, again and again and.................. till I gave up and did it MY way which is install the SW then plug in the scanner (USB)
It worked like like a charm and functions flawless. It did give me the "system32" Popup at start-up and I pursued that till I bought a copy of Norton System works and it found the registry problem (Incomplete entry, It fixed it for me. I switched to the current USB key board thinking it might be able to bypass the problem described in my Help solicitation. I started getting the Lack of standby support during the installation of the Logitech KB, they by the way recognize there is some sort of a problem with their software and W2K but there is no help beyond that. I have searched the registry (very carefully) for remnants of the LKB but I'm not sure I would recognize it if I saw it. I did remove the logitech folder from the registry as instructed by them but it didn't help. I think the person that solves this one has to be a genius or very lucky. Don't know if I have added any intelligence or not. Keep the ideas coming I will try to answer what I am able to understand.
