I had major problems with BID. First, it had all kinds of issues with my USB network adapter. If I had to shut down for any reason, I would have to reboot 3 or 4 times before BID would work AND I would be on the network at the same time. I also had problems with it appearing to be running, but if I checked things out at www.grc.com , I wasn't protected. ZoneAlarm has only caused a problem for me once. It was a known bug in one of the versions that has since been fixed. Best part, it's free for personal use. It has to be the best free piece of software that I have ever used (excluding Linux of course, but I'm still playing there).
