AMD's share price is so low right now that it could be taken private. If taken private they no longer have to worry about the shareholders and the boards demands. This makes for a much more flexible company. AMD has slashed prices in order to get chips out the door according to this article.

AMD is a further ahead than what many seem to be thinking according to this comparison between AMD's fastest and Intel's fastest.
Yes this article is an AMD/Intel comparison....but it is level headed, based on facts and not a shouting match or an argument as to who is better. I just think many will find it interesting without taking this thread in the wrong direction.
