I used fooled around with a metal detector every so often. The area where I live was a high traffic area for revolutionary war battles, encampments, skirmishes, etc. I never found anything other than the usual junk you'd find in any farmer's field of the day (nails and pottery mainly).

The detector I used was probably made in the 70s...it's packed away now, so I don't know what the model is.

I never had any luck with the darn thing...I just sometimes brought it along for a walk in the woods sometimes when I used to have free time.
