I'm trying to help a friend get a pc on his network. It is a W95 and W98
peer to peer network with a 10bT hub/ Cat 5.

One machine, can not ping any of the other machines. I know the Cat 5 cable
is good, because I hooked my laptop up to it and got right into the network.

I did the following:
Removed and re-added MS networking client and file/printer sharing.
Verified Workgroup name same as others.
Verified PC had a unique name.
Verified PC had a unique IP address.
Tried two different NIC's. (A PCI 10/100 and an ISA 10bT 3com.)
There is a green status light on the hub port for this cable.

When I ping from either direction, there is no response. When I click on
Network Neighborhood, and then Entire Network, I get an *immediate* "Unable to
Browse the Network". This pc doesn't even see itself in the Network.

Any suggestions?
