Don't forget about Blender and Gimp for 3D modeling and photo editing.
From what I heard you can download a skin to make Gimp look and preform like Adobe Photoshop - I will look into that.
I have also found that when creating a personal website that needs to have a photo album I use JAlbum.
Also when I am working on someones computer I like to install "My Pictures 3D"
