if wubi doesnt work or you dont have a cd burner and such you can try using vmware or virtualbox (windows os emulators)

...
i dont think you can use any of these programs to install it on your computer but it gives you a option to use ubuntu and test it out...
1st download virtualbox or vmware player... i recommend the vmware player b/c its the only one that works for my computer... (they both free)
download ubuntu iso from ubuntu.com (the alternate one)
open vmware and click on new virtual machine.
next >> custom >> version >> other/other >> name it/location >> number of cpu (i think if you have dual core not sure about ht >> amount of ram (512mb best) >> bridge connection >> buslogic >> create virtual disk or use physical disk >> ide or scsi >> disk size >> disk name. end
when done double click the cdrom and go to iso >> then the iso file
then start it up
press f2 when say vmware (this will go to bios change the boot to cdrom then hard drive)
save and exit
go thru and install ubuntu (takes forever!!!)
when done restart enter username and pass
finish and have fun!! :3
also try kubuntu and pclinuxos <3
