i have the MX518 and this mouse DON'T have 8 usable buttons but 5.
-Two thumb buttons
-Right and left click
-Mouse wheel clik
that's it ..
two buttons is used to adjust sensibility on the fly ( no driver required ) and the last button require a logitech software ... you can't bind them at anything while gaming.
overall .. a good mouse.
