That may be what you were saying in your original post but I seem to remember two areas that need to be configured for proper booting. Plus, you'll need to instlall the drivers for the Silicone Image controller even if you don't use the RAID configuration.

you mean install these drivers in windows? i did install it in windows. if i leave drives disconnected, i can boot and then connect them and they work fine. and yeah, i configured it so it SHOULD boot from the old drive on the non-RAID controller
