It appears to be resolved, Alex - if the hard drive were on 40 wire it wouldn't work jumpered CS and there would be a POST warning saying that it was not in Ultra DMA mode. You *CAN* use master/slave on 80 wire as long as you do not try to override the position with the jumper.
