I started hearing a strange noise that was apparently coming from my cpu fan. It got very loud by the next day. No errors or problems, just noise. I took the heatsink/fan off and cleaned out a lot of dust and put it back on. Now I get a CPU fan fail, low speed error message on boot (and noise is the same.)
I have an old AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2.0GHz Socket 939 Single-Core Processor. Will a new fan/heatsink solve the problem? Is this fan/heatsink compatible?
