Whatever you buy, you might want to allow about $100 for peripherals: battery and battery charger; disk reader; and extra memory. You can by all or each of these THIRD PARTY. You might do well to purchase these at separate places. I've found that those that have the camera at cheap prices make up for it in the peripherals.

You might check out the Xmas sales out there. The Kodak DX 3215 isn't a great camera. But it's the cheapest one with OPTICAL ZOOM. I bought one for my son. Kodak, itself, is the cheapest place to get the memory for that camera. It uses a regularly expensive media.
