Unhappy Monitor flashing, clicking sounds

What's the cause of the CRT monitor to be "flashing" and mouse & system freezing with clicking sounds when playing games such as "Worms world party" (it requires directX 7)?
Other than that, the monitor works fine. (LG 17" monitor)

Run directX diagnostic and no problem detected (card is TNT M64 32MB).
(directX is 8.0a)

All games were running well on a 15" LCD monitor before I gave the CPU away and had it hook to a 17" LG monitor.

Tried adapter settings - "default", "optimal", "60Hz"
but still the same. Is there something I miss ?

Check some sites and drivers for LG monitors is available for download.
However, win98se didn't ask for this driver. Autodetect and installed by itself. Should I use the LG drivers instead or is it some settings I missed ?

High colour 16bit at 1024x768 used.

Thanks in advance.
