Share a wireless kb/mouse with a PC?

I'm contemplating a partial move into Macland while keeping one foot in the Evil Empire -- i.e., setting up an IMac next to my PC. I plan to keep my old but good Cornerstone monitor attached to the PC, at least for the present, so I'm not looking for a full KVM solution. But I would like the two computers to share a keyboard and mouse. I now use a wireless Logitech mouse with the PC, which I like, and having both devices wireless would, I hope, minimize tangle problems.

Over the years I've gotten accustomed to the MS split keyboard, and I want to go on using that format. MS sells a wireless version (kb/m combo) that is advertised to work with MAC OS X as well as Windows.

What I'd like to do is insert a 2-port USB A/B switch between the wireless receiving unit and the two computers, so that only one of them would receive the signal at a given time. Can anyone offer advice on whether or not this would work?
